Dr. Leah Hartman, C. Psych

Please note that Dr. Hartman is taking parental leave for a year starting October 2024 and will be returning November 2025. During this time she is not taking on new clients; however, other team members are!

Dr. Leah Hartman is the principal psychologist and founder of HART Centre for Psychology. She is a registered Clinical Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University and completed both her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology at York University.

Dr. Hartman provides assessments and psychotherapy to individual adults of all genders, sexual orientations and cultural backgrounds. She has extensive experience assisting people with a wide range of mental health conditions, workplace issues and everyday challenges. She has a particular interest in first responders/safety personnel, trauma, PTSD, occupational stress, anxiety, anger, burnout, alcohol and substance misuse, as well as personal growth and development. She provides personalized client care and is collaborative, warm, dynamic and personable. She is committed to not only alleviating mental and emotional distress but to empowering clients to achieve and maintain mental wellness and personal growth. In addition, she is passionate and committed to removing barriers to mental health services, especially stigma.

Dr Hartman draws from a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Mindfulness-based therapy techniques.

Dr. Hartman is registered as a provider for injured workers in the WSIB Community Mental Health Program (CMHP), and as a provider for members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)/Department of National Defense (DND), Veteran Affairs Canada (VAC), and Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) through Medavie Blue Cross.

In her spare time, Dr. Hartman enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, yoga, skiing and travelling.

Navneet Mann, MSW, RSW

Navneet (she/her) is an associate at the HART Centre for Psychology. She is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, holding a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Social Work with a specialization in Health and Mental Health from the University of Toronto.

Navneet provides assessment and psychotherapy in English and Punjabi to adult individuals across all genders, sexual orientations, and cultural backgrounds. She has extensive experience working across various mental health systems, including community, hospital, and correctional mental health settings. Navneet has a specific interest in trauma, including intergenerational trauma, interpersonal trauma, and occupational trauma. Navneet values ongoing education and recently completed the Wounded Warriors course for professionals working with public safety personnel/first responders to help those on the front line. She is competent in working with individuals experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), psychosis, substance misuse, stress, anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, and burnout. She is also experienced in working with people living with chronic illnesses, such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and Endometriosis.

Navneet is deeply committed to addressing diversity and racial trauma, advocating for mental health services that are inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive. Navneet emphasizes providing individualized care that is collaborative, nonjudgmental, compassionate, and flexible while also being evidence-based. She uses a wide range of therapeutic approaches tailored to each individual’s needs, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-based therapy techniques.

In her spare time, Navneet is passionate about researching homicide and gun violence prevention, playing basketball, and spending time with friends at local coffee shops planning her next adventure abroad.

Navneet is available Tuesday (virtually), Wednesday (in person or virtual) and Thursday (in person or virtual).
