Mental Health Check Up

Whether or not you are new to the field or well into your career, HART Centre for Psychology is designed to help you be proactive about and take charge of your mental health. After all, your mental health is a vital part of your “equipment.” This includes but is not limited to firefighter, paramedic, police officer, communication operator, correctional officer, military member or veteran, health care provider, or other staff member within a public safety organization. We have specific training and experience to understand the challenges of your work and we know how to provide the support you need to help maintain wellness.

At HART Centre for Psychology, we offer baseline assessments of mental health, as well as appointments to have “mental health check-ups,” similar to an annual physical exam or semi-annual dental cleanings.

Benefits of “mental health check-ups” include:

  • Acquire a baseline assessment of psychological functioning

  • Learn and maintain healthy coping strategies
  • Decrease unhelpful coping styles
  • Identify challenges and difficulties early
  • Develop rapport and trust with a clinician to have support to turn to during or after difficult times

HART Centre for Psychology is proudly affiliated with and extends support to the following organizations:
